Tehran: During the official visit of Iraqi Prime Minister Ali Falih Kadhim al-Zaidi to Tehran on Thursday, Iran and Iraq issued a joint statement emphasizing the expansion of their strategic cooperation across all sectors.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the joint statement highlighted the importance of formulating a comprehensive long-term cooperation document between the two nations. It also underscored the urgency of accelerating the implementation of existing bilateral agreements and strengthening political, economic, security, and regional coordination.

The statement further detailed that both sides reviewed the latest status of their bilateral relations, regional developments, and international issues. They reiterated the necessity of continuing constructive dialogue, deepening strategic ties, and expanding cooperation founded on mutual trust, good neighborliness, and shared interests.
