Behshahr:Iranian and Kazakh companies have signed a memorandum of understanding aimed at expanding trade cooperation. The agreement was formalized late on Friday during an auto exhibition in Behshahr, northern Iran, with the presence of provincial free zone officials and municipal representatives.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the Mayor of Behshahr, Yaser Ahmadi, stated that the agreement is designed to facilitate trade between Iranian and foreign companies, particularly those from the Commonwealth of Independent States (CIS). This initiative aims to promote employment and production across the province.
Mohammad Rahmani, deputy for civil affairs and infrastructure at the Mazandaran Free Zone, described the Behshahr Trade House as a strategic model for integrating trade with urban management. The initiative is expected to enhance economic ties with CIS member states and the countries bordering the Caspian Sea.
Additionally, Amirabad Port, which is connected to Iran's railway network and the International North-South Transport Corridor (INSTC), has an annual handling capacity of 10 million tons. This port has significant potential for expanding trade with Caspian littoral states, as noted by the officials involved in the agreement.
