Muscat: Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi met with Vice-Chairman of the Libyan Presidential Council Mossa al-Koni in Muscat, engaging in discussions focused on bilateral ties and regional developments. The meeting highlighted a mutual satisfaction with the improving relationship between Iran and Libya, emphasizing the importance of strengthening ties in various sectors.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Araghchi expressed optimism that with Libya’s political and security stabilization, the relationship between the two nations would continue to grow. He recalled the historical positive relations between Iran and Libya and anticipated expansion in collaboration across different areas.
Mossa al-Koni appreciated Iran’s consistent stance on acknowledging Libyan national sovereignty and territorial integrity. He stressed the commitment of Libya’s new leadership to enhance relations with Iran. The meeting also included discussions on the broader Islamic world, focusing on the situation in Palestine.
