Tehran: Minister of Science, Research and Technology Hossein Simaei Sarraf, while welcoming the expansion of scientific cooperation between Iran and Pakistan, has suggested the necessary preparations to enroll brilliant Pakistani students in the University of Sistan and Baluchestan for higher education. Simaei Sarraf made the announcement during a meeting with Wajiha Qamar, Pakistan's Minister of State for Federal Education and Professional Training, on the sidelines of the Trkiye Educational Technologies Summit (TETZ) in Istanbul, organized by the Turkish Education Ministry.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the meeting highlighted the historical, religious, and cultural ties between the two countries, providing a foundation for expanding relationships into education and research. Simaei Sarraf expressed disappointment over the current level of scientific, academic, technological, and innovation cooperation, stressing the necessity for both nations to benefit from improved collaborations.

Simaei Sarraf also commended the Pakistani government and people for their support to Iran during the recent conflict involving the United States and Israel. In response, Wajiha Qamar proposed establishing a joint scientific working group to further enhance cooperation between Iran and Pakistan.

Qamar acknowledged Iran's achievements in various fields as an inspiration for many countries, expressing Pakistan's interest in following Iran's model. She noted that Pakistan could gain from Iran's experiences in skills training, agriculture, construction, and production, emphasizing the deep linguistic, religious, and civilizational ties that create a suitable platform for such collaborations.
