Iran and Pakistan to Enhance Naval Cooperation Through AMAN-25 Exercise

Karachi: The commander of the Iranian Navy has announced that Iran and Pakistan are set to boost their operational naval cooperation, with plans for joint exercises in the future. Rear Admiral Shahram Irani, who arrived in Karachi leading a high-ranking Iranian military delegation, will participate in the multinational naval exercise AMAN-25. He stated that Iran's significant presence at the event underscores the importance of its relationship with Pakistan.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Rear Admiral Irani emphasized that the event serves as a 'valuable opportunity for Iran and Pakistan to strengthen their operational capabilities at sea.' He expressed optimism that the ongoing interactions between the two countries' navies would lay the groundwork for future bilateral exercises. Irani also acknowledged the efforts of Iran's embassy and military attach© in Pakistan in advancing naval cooperation.

Irani mentioned plans to invite Pakistani counterparts to participate in future exercises hosted by Iran. His visit to Pakistan comes at the official invitation of Pakistani Navy Chief Admiral Naveed Ashraf, with whom he is scheduled to meet. Irani will also observe operational segments of the multinational exercise during his stay.

The AMAN-25 exercise, organized under the slogan 'Together for Peace,' commenced in Karachi on Friday with participation from 60 nations. In a recent interview, Admiral Ashraf welcomed Iran's involvement in the exercise, emphasizing Pakistan's strong naval ties with Iran and a shared interest in enhancing cooperation.
