Tehran: The foreign ministers of Iran and Qatar have engaged in discussions concerning regional developments, with a specific focus on the situation in Yemen and the necessity to uphold the nation's territorial integrity. Iranian Foreign Minister Seyyed Abbas Araghchi conducted a telephone conversation with Qatari Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, during which they exchanged views on significant regional matters.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the ministers expressed their concerns about the situations in Palestine and Lebanon, especially in light of the violations of ceasefire agreements by Israel, and the ongoing attacks on Gaza and Lebanon targeting civilians. They emphasized the urgent need for the international community to pressure Israel to fully comply with its commitments and to cease its policies of genocide, occupation, and expansionism.

Araghchi and Al Thani also reviewed recent developments in Yemen, highlighting the importance of maintaining the country's territorial integrity and unity. Recently, forces backed by the UAE, known as the Southern Transitional Council (STC), have taken control of vast areas in Yemen's southern provinces. The STC claims their actions aim to expel extremists and prevent smuggling operations.

Reports indicate that STC forces have advanced in Hadramawt Province, capturing Seiyun and gaining control of several oil fields in desert areas near the Saudi Arabian border.
