Moscow:Iranian and Russian technology companies have explored joint investments, technology transfer, and market expansion in advanced technologies, with a focus on artificial intelligence and cybersecurity, during a bilateral forum in Moscow.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the discussions took place at the second Global Digital Forum held at the Mchta complex in Gorky Park. The event gathered officials, diplomats, and representatives from both countries' public and private sectors, facilitating business-to-business meetings.
Iran's technology attaché, Ambassador Kazem Jalali, emphasized the importance of strategic cooperation and government support for expanding digital exchanges. He highlighted that Iranian technology companies have significant experience in localizing infrastructure equipment, and Russian firms could benefit from joint investments to access Iran's information technology and artificial intelligence markets. Jalali affirmed the Iranian government's support for such investments.
A Russian deputy minister for digital development, communications, and mass media noted the participation of Iranian companies as an opportunity for information exchange and partnership development. He underlined the potential for increased collaboration in artificial intelligence and cybersecurity, expressing Russia's readiness to develop shared infrastructure with Iran.
During the meetings, companies from both countries presented recent technological advancements and discussed practical proposals for technology transfer, joint investment, and market expansion.
This forum follows an Iranian delegation's visit to Russia in December 2025, which resulted in a 20-point intergovernmental memorandum of understanding and five contracts between companies from the two nations.
