Iran and Uzbekistan Forge New Mining and Mineral Investment Agreements

Tashkent: Iran and Uzbekistan have reached new agreements to expand cooperation and investment in the mining and mineral industries, marking a significant step toward strengthening bilateral economic relations. During his visit to Tashkent, Uzbekistan, Iran’s Minister of Industry, Mine and Trade Mohammad Atabak held talks with Uzbekistan’s Minister of Mining and Geology Islamov Bobur Farxodovich and Minister of Investment, Industry and Trade Laziz Kudratov.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the Iranian minister stated that the agreements herald a significant leap in the level of trade and commercial exchanges between the two countries. He emphasized that while cooperation is already on an upward trajectory, the serious determination of both presidents necessitates achieving the outlined visions for economic growth.

The Iranian delegation, led by Minister Atabak, arrived in Tashkent on November 9, accompanied by senior officials from Iran’s industrial and mining sectors. On the first day of the visit, the delegation, along with Iran’s ambassador to Uzbekistan, Mohammad Ali Eskandari, met with Iranian entrepreneurs and business representatives active in Uzbekistan.

The discussions during the visit also included developing joint mining ventures, enhancing customs processes, and leveraging the industrial capacities of both nations to promote sustainable economic growth.
