Iran Army Emphasizes Loyalty and Obedience as Keys to Overcoming Challenges

Tehran: The Islamic Republic of Iran Army has underscored the importance of loyalty to the homeland and obedience to the Velayat-e Faqih (Guardianship of the Islamic Jurist) as fundamental principles for overcoming all challenges. This message was highlighted as the Army commemorated the anniversary of the return of Iranian prisoners of war (POWs) from the 1980-1988 Iran-Iraq War. The Army emphasized that its younger generation draws inspiration from the heroism of these POWs.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, a statement was issued on Sunday marking this significant anniversary. The Army noted, "In the calendar of the nation's epic achievements and honors, some dates serve as a 'roadmap' for preserving dignity. The anniversary of the return of the prisoners of war marks the convergence of strategic patience, unwavering faith, and the absolute triumph of the will over the chains of captivity."

The statement further elaborated that the return of the POWs was not merely a physical homecoming but represented an unyielding will on Iranian soil. The combatants, who endured severe captivity conditions, redefined steadfastness and demonstrated that the military uniform symbolizes dignity and honor, even without a weapon.

The Army highlighted that it has reached a level of strength and authority, drawing on the legacy of martyrs and the experiences of veterans and distinguished POWs, where any threat is rendered ineffective against its defensive capabilities rooted in faith and expertise.

The statement concluded by emphasizing the importance of preserving the memory of the POWs and maintaining a truthful rhetoric of resistance as pathways to victory. The Army paid tribute to the POWs and all armed forces members, acknowledging them as pillars of support for the Iranian people.
