Tehran: Commander of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC), Major-General Hossein Salami, emphasized Iran's commitment to resolving its nuclear issue through diplomatic means, while maintaining readiness for conflict at any level.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, General Salami addressed attendees at a ceremony honoring former President Ebrahim Raisi and his companions, who perished in a helicopter crash in East Azarbaijan Province on May 19, 2024. He stated that Iran, guided by its political will, does not seek nuclear armament. However, he warned the United States of severe repercussions if it missteps, metaphorically referring to it as opening the "gates of hell."
The IRGC commander also cautioned that adversaries would face grave consequences, more intense than the previous True Promise operations against Israel. He advised U.S. officials to be cautious of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's efforts to involve them in a prolonged conflict.
Salami further warned the Israeli regime, noting their struggles with missile attacks from Yemeni Armed Forces and suggesting they were unprepared for an intensified assault involving numerous missiles. Additionally, he lauded President Raisi for his proactive and confident foreign policy approach.
