Zahedan: Iran's Intelligence Ministry has announced significant progress in its fight against terrorism in the southeastern region of the country. Security forces, in collaboration with the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) and local police, have successfully dismantled four operational cells of terrorist groups, resulting in the detention of 10 terrorist agents and the elimination of two others.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, these coordinated operations took place across multiple cities, including Zahedan, Chabahar, Iranshahr, Khash, and Taftan, effectively preempting potential terrorist attacks. The Ministry revealed that a separate group consisting of five members was apprehended in the southern parts of the Sistan and Baluchestan province, specifically in the cities of Nikshahr and Qasr-e Qand. This group was reportedly engaged in activities that threatened national security, such as firing on military units and targeting judicial centers.

The Ministry's statement further explained that the detained individuals were recruited by terrorist organizations based in neighboring countries. These organizations provided the recruits with training in military tactics and explosives, enabling them to infiltrate Iran with the aim of executing sabotage, assassinations, and other forms of attacks in the southeastern regions.
