Tehran: Economy Minister Seyed Ali Madanizadeh has reaffirmed Iran's commitment to expanding North-South transport infrastructure during his visit to Russia. In a meeting with Dmitry Zverev, Russia's Deputy Minister of Transport, Madanizadeh stated that conditions are now in place to begin construction of the Rasht-Astara railway soon.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Zverev emphasized continued cooperation on the North-South corridor and reviewed the latest progress on the project. Both sides stressed the need to finalize and sign the implementation contract as quickly as possible.
During his trip to Moscow, Madanizadeh also held several bilateral and multilateral meetings with Russian officials, Eurasian Economic Commission leaders, and Iranian business representatives, focusing on ways to boost economic and trade cooperation.
