Islamabad: Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei has condemned in the strongest terms the terrorist attack against a court in Islamabad, Pakistan. Baqaei expressed his condolences to the people and government of Pakistan, especially the families of the victims, and prayed for the speedy recovery and health of those injured in the incident.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, a suicide attack outside a court in Pakistan’s capital Islamabad resulted in the death of 12 people and injuries to at least 27 others, as reported by the country’s interior minister on Tuesday. In the aftermath of the explosion, the Pakistani Taliban, also known as Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP), claimed responsibility for the bombing. The group stated that the attack was a response to the government’s ongoing security operations in the northwest.
