Tehran:Iran has expressed dissatisfaction with Germany and its European partners over what it perceives as their irresponsible and contradictory positions regarding US-Israeli military actions against Iran. Esmaeil Baqaei, the Foreign Ministry spokesperson, voiced these concerns in a recent post on X.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Baqaei referenced remarks made by German Chancellor Friedrich Merz concerning a 12-day war initiated by Israel against Iran in June 2025. The spokesperson highlighted Merz's comments, describing Israel's actions as "dirty work" done on behalf of others. Additionally, he noted warnings from the German Chancellor about potential renewed US-Israeli attacks and the consequent rise in tensions in West Asia.
In his post, Baqaei also cited German Foreign Minister and others who, in October 2026, cautioned against further assaults on Iran and emphasized the importance of preventing an escalation in the region. He further enriched his message with a quote from Friedrich Schiller’s play, "The Maid of Orleans," to underscore the perceived helplessness in the face of escalating aggression.
These statements arrive amid reports that the United States and Israel are allegedly preparing for new significant military operations against Iran. In response, the Islamic Republic has pledged a robust and comprehensive reaction if such military activities resume.
