Iran Denies Plans for New Negotiations with the US

Tehran: Iran has confirmed that no new round of negotiations with the United States is currently planned, as stated by a Foreign Ministry spokesman on Monday. "No decision has been taken in this regard," spokesman Esmail Baghai announced during a press conference in Tehran.

According to Nam News Network, the statement comes as a ceasefire involving Iran, the United States, and Israel, which began on April 8, is set to expire on Wednesday. The future steps remain unclear, and the absence of planned talks adds to the uncertainty surrounding the situation.

President Donald Trump mentioned on Sunday that US representatives were expected to arrive in Islamabad on Monday evening for further discussions. However, previous marathon negotiations between Iran and the US, which took place on April 11 in Islamabad, concluded without reaching an agreement. The talks failed to resolve key issues, notably disagreements over the strategic Strait of Hormuz and Iran's nuclear program.
