Tehran: In a recent development, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran has issued a statement vehemently rejecting and condemning the claims and accusations made against Iran in the final communiqu© of the 166th session of the Arab League Council of Foreign Ministers.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the Ministry's statement highlighted its dissatisfaction with the allegations, particularly at a time when it asserts that the Zionist regime is responsible for military aggression and war crimes in the region. Iran criticized certain Arab League member states for focusing on Iran rather than addressing what it describes as the real source of instability in West Asia. The Ministry emphasized Iran's commitment to good-neighborliness and the importance of regional cooperation and avoiding actions that could escalate tensions.

Iran reiterated its stance on the sovereignty of the islands of Abu Musa, Greater Tunb, and Lesser Tunb, stating that they are integral parts of Iranian territory. The Ministry condemned any territorial claims against these islands, asserting that Iran's sovereignty is supported by historical records and international law. Furthermore, the statement rejected allegations of Iranian interference in Yemen, emphasizing Iran's support for Yemeni dialogue and the preservation of Yemen's unity.

The statement also addressed security concerns in the Strait of Hormuz, attributing regional maritime insecurity to US-Zionist military actions. Iran reaffirmed its commitment to the security of the Persian Gulf and the Sea of Oman, calling for cooperation among littoral states without foreign interference. Iran expressed its readiness to engage in dialogue to foster mutual trust and achieve sustainable security and economic progress in West Asia.
