Iran Dismisses Speculation on Next Round of U.S. Talks

Tehran: Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Esmaeil Baqaei, has dismissed reports on the date and location for the next round of talks with the United States, labeling them as media speculation. Baqaei stated that the schedule for the sixth round has not yet been determined.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Baqaei spoke to IRNA in Tehran, clarifying that a message on the X platform attributed to the Omani Ministry of Foreign Affairs about the upcoming indirect negotiations with the U.S. is fabricated. The spokesperson emphasized that the time and venue for the talks have not been finalized.

Foreign Minister Araqchi has led five rounds of negotiations with U.S. special envoy Steve Witkoff, mediated by Omani Foreign Minister Sayyid Badr Al-Busaidi. These discussions have taken place in Muscat and Rome. Araqchi described the latest round in Rome as ‘one of the most professional’ since the diplomatic process began in April. He noted that the American side now has a ‘better, clearer, and more precise understanding’ of Iran’s positions.
