Tehran: The spokesperson for Iran's Ministry of Foreign Affairs stated that the relations between Tehran and Moscow are built on strong foundations of mutual respect and shared interests between the two nations. Esmaeil Baqaei expressed these sentiments on his X page, highlighting the importance of the diplomatic ties between the two countries.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Baqaei mentioned that Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi recently visited the Russian Federation, describing it as a neighbor and strategic partner. The visit was aimed at consulting on matters of common interest and concern. Baqaei emphasized that the "excellent relations" between Tehran and Moscow are based on solid grounds of "mutual understanding" and "respect," as well as the "shared interests" of the two nations.

Araqchi's arrival in Moscow on Thursday was significant, as he carried a message from Iran's Leader Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei to Russian President Vladimir Putin. During his discussions with reporters upon arrival, Araqchi noted that the message focuses on international and regional developments, along with bilateral issues, further solidifying the collaborative efforts between Iran and Russia.
