Tehran: Caretaker Iranian Defense Minister Majid Ibn Reza, in a meeting with Pakistani Army Commander Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir in Tehran on Friday, voiced Tehran's readiness to expand cooperation with Islamabad in defense areas. During this significant meeting, the Acting Minister of Defense expressed gratitude for Islamabad's support of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the focus of the discussions was on the expansion of defense and security cooperation between the two countries. Both leaders emphasized the formation of regional security mechanisms and joint confrontations against threats, particularly from the Zionist regime. General Ibn Reza highlighted the importance of developing defense and military cooperation between Tehran and Islamabad and called for strengthened Islamic unity.

Field Marshal Asim Munir, who visited Tehran for the funeral ceremonies of the martyred Leader, expressed his appreciation for the hospitality of the Islamic Republic of Iran. He conveyed condolences to the Iranian government, nation, and armed forces for the martyrdom of the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, along with other victims. He also expressed sympathy with the Iranian people, acknowledging the deep historical and civilizational ties between Iran and Pakistan.

Field Marshal Munir remarked on the shared sorrow experienced by the Pakistani people following the recent terrorist act, asserting that this solidarity extends beyond the officials to the entire nation. He also recalled the visit of the martyred Iranian Minister of Defense to Islamabad, affirming that cooperation between Tehran and Islamabad in defense fields is on a favorable trajectory, and both sides are committed to continuing this collaboration with strength.
