Tehran:Afghanistan's Ministry of Public Works announced that the country has exported 600 tons of cotton to Turkey through Iran's rail network.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the ministry highlighted the significance of the Khaf-Herat railway route as a crucial transit corridor for Afghanistan. The development of railway lines is emphasized as a strategy to reduce the cost and time of transporting goods, thereby enhancing Afghanistan's export capabilities.
The Khaf-Herat railway route connects the western regions of Afghanistan to Iran’s rail network, enabling the transfer of commercial cargo to Iranian ports, economic centers, and further to international markets.
