Iran First Vice President Praises Spain’s Firm Stance Against US-Israel Aggression on Iran

Tehran: Iran First Vice President Mohammad Reza Aref has expressed his appreciation for the Spanish government's position on the ongoing aggression by the US and Israel against Iran, emphasizing the importance of standing firm against such actions. In a message on his X account, Aref commended Prime Minister Pedro S¡nchez for his humanitarian stance and called for the global community to distinguish between aggressors and defenders.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Aref reiterated Iran's commitment to its legal rights and the defense of national security as outlined in the UN Charter. He emphasized that Iran's actions are solely aimed at safeguarding its sovereignty against any form of encroachment and state terrorism.

In a related development, Prime Minister Pedro S¡nchez, during a speech in the Spanish parliament in March, expressed grave concerns over the situation with Iran, warning that it poses a scenario "far worse" than the 2003 invasion of Iraq. He described the conflict as an "absurd and illegal war" that could significantly hinder global economic, social, and environmental progress.

Despite pressure from the United States, including President Trump's threats to cut trade ties with Spain, S¡nchez has refused to allow the use of Madrid's military bases for launching strikes against Iran, reinforcing Spain's commitment to a peaceful resolution and adherence to international law.
