Tehran: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) Rafael Grossi have met in Tehran to discuss Iran's nuclear energy program. Grossi's arrival in Tehran was marked by a welcome from Behrouz Kamalvandi, the Spokesman for the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI), on Wednesday night. According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the IAEA chief's itinerary included a meeting with Iran's top diplomat, Abbas Araghchi, who is noted for his significant role as a chief negotiator in the nuclear talks that resulted in the 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA). The discussions are part of Grossi's efforts to address outstanding issues related to Iran's nuclear safeguards. Further, the IAEA director general is scheduled to engage in talks with Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and the Head of the AEOI, Mohammad Eslami. Grossi will subsequently participate in a press conference to address questions from reporters regarding the nature and di rection of Iran's peaceful nuclear program. Ahead of his visit, Grossi stated that the agency's inspectors have found no evidence of Iran constructing a nuclear bomb. He also expressed his optimism about making progress in negotiations with Iranian officials during his visit to the Islamic Republic.
