Tehran: Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esma'eel Baqayi has criticized Britain's 'irrational hostile mentality regarding Iranians', noting that any government that makes unfounded accusations and takes hostile actions against the Iranian nation shall be held accountable.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, accusations by the U.K. government are aimed to 'deflect from their own culpability, both as 'genocide denier' and as supporter of anti-Iran terrorism (tracing back to the 1953 coup against Iran's democratically-elected government for which U.K.'s guilt never disappears),' Baqayi said in a post on X on Thursday in response to interventionist remarks made by the U.K. Secretary of State for the Home Department.

He further remarked, 'It is absurd to blame Iran for something you excel in and master: illegal interference in other nations' internal affairs!'
