Iran Identifies Rivals for 2026 AFC Futsal Asian Cup

Tehran: The draw for the 2026 AFC Futsal Asian Cup has revealed Iran’s group stage opponents. The tournament is set to be hosted by Indonesia from January 27 to February 7, 2026. Iran, the most decorated team in the tournament’s history, will be competing in Group D.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Iran, under the leadership of Vahid Shamsaei, will face Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, and Malaysia in the group stage. The competition promises challenging matches for Iran as they aim to continue their successful track record in the AFC Futsal Asian Cup.

The official group draw for the 2026 edition of the tournament is as follows: Group A consists of Indonesia, Iraq, Kyrgyzstan, and South Korea. Group B includes Thailand, Vietnam, Kuwait, and Lebanon. Group C features Japan, Uzbekistan, Tajikistan, and Australia. Finally, Group D sees Iran alongside Afghanistan, Saudi Arabia, and Malaysia.
