Tehran: Iran’s Deputy Minister for Legal and International Affairs, Kazem Gharibabadi, has asserted that Iran will deliver a decisive and immediate response if an anti-Iran resolution is approved by the Board of Governors of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). This statement was made in response to a draft resolution submitted by the UK, France, and Germany ahead of the IAEA’s board meeting in Vienna.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Gharibabadi conveyed his message via his X social media account, emphasizing Iran’s commitment to a policy of interaction with the IAEA. He highlighted the recent visit by Rafael Grossi, Director General of the UN nuclear watchdog, to Iran, stating that the visit transpired in a positive and constructive atmosphere, with Grossi not returning to Vienna empty-handed. Despite Grossi’s efforts to maintain this interactive environment and his discussions with the three European countries to avoid confrontation, these countries chose a different path.
Gharibabadi
criticized the use of international organizations as political tools by Western countries, particularly in the context of the anti-Iran resolution. He accused these countries of supporting the Zionist regime and hindering international efforts, such as those by the UN Security Council, to establish a ceasefire, thus facilitating the continued genocide of the Palestinian people.
He reiterated Iran’s position that if the resolution is approved at the IAEA’s board meeting, Iran is prepared to respond decisively and immediately. The Atomic Energy Organization of Iran stands ready to implement the decisions made in response to the resolution, as outlined in Gharibabadi’s message on X.
