Tehran: The Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters declares that Iran's Armed Forces will not allow any interference in the affairs or management of the Strait of Hormuz under any circumstances, following US attacks on southern Iran.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the headquarters stated early on Wednesday that the unprecedented public turnout at the funeral and farewell ceremonies for the martyred Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, dealt a 'humiliating defeat' to 'global arrogance and criminal America.'

The statement accused the 'terrorist US military' of carrying out 'a blatant act of aggression' by targeting parts of southern Iran, despite its commitments and while the body of the 'martyred Leader of Muslims and freedom-seekers around the world' was in Iraq.

It emphasized that the Armed Forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran would deliver a 'crushing response' to US aggression and terrorist actions, adding, 'Under no circumstances will we allow interference in the affairs or management of the Strait of Hormuz.'

Furthermore, the statement declared that the only safe route for commercial vessels and oil tankers through the Strait of Hormuz is the route designated by Iran.

Earlier reports indicated that US air raids targeted Sirik County and Qeshm Island in the southern Iranian Hormozgan Province.
