Tehran: The Head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) declared that Iran has never pursued and will never pursue a nuclear weapons program. Mohammad Eslami made this statement during an interaction with reporters on the sidelines of a cabinet meeting.
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Eslami was responding to United States President Donald Trump's recent remarks concerning Iran's nuclear ambitions. Trump had signed an executive order aimed at reinstating a campaign of 'maximum pressure' on Iran, asserting that it was intended to prevent Iran from developing a nuclear weapon.
Eslami emphasized that Iran's stance on nuclear weapons is unequivocal, stating, "Iran never had, does not have now, and never will have a program [to produce] nuclear weapons." He reiterated that Iran's approach in this domain remains clear and consistent.
