Tehran: Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi contacted his Venezuelan counterpart on Saturday to convey condolences over two deadly earthquakes and to offer Tehran's readiness to assist in relief and rescue operations. Araghchi spoke by telephone with Yvan Gil Pinto, Foreign Minister of the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela, on Saturday afternoon.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, during the call, Araghchi expressed the sincere sympathies of the Iranian government and people to the Venezuelan people, government, and families of those killed in the recent powerful earthquakes, and wished a full recovery to those injured in the disaster.

Araghchi further emphasized that the Islamic Republic of Iran stands alongside the people of Venezuela in these difficult circumstances, and formally declared Iran's readiness to provide any form of assistance and to take part in search and rescue operations.
