Iran Offers Condolences to Sudan Following Tragic Floods and Landslide

Tehran: Iran has expressed sympathy with the government and people of Sudan following devastating floods and a landslide that have killed more than a thousand people, particularly in Darfur’s Jebel Marra region. Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmaeil Baqaei on Wednesday night extended condolences to Khartoum over the tragedy, offering prayers for the victims and recovery for the injured. He conveyed solidarity with the bereaved families and reaffirmed Iran’s support for the Sudanese nation in this difficult time.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, more than 1,000 people were killed in a landslide that destroyed a village in the mountainous Jebel Marra area in the Darfur region of Sudan, marking one of the deadliest natural disasters in recent history in the country.
