Iran Offers Support for Lebanon’s Reconstruction Amid Tensions

Beirut: Iranian Ambassador to Beirut Mojtaba Amani has announced that Iran is prepared to assist in Lebanon's reconstruction following the Israeli aggression against the country.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Amani expressed Iran's readiness to collaborate with the Lebanese government in rebuilding efforts. He emphasized Tehran's intention to support the Lebanese people affected by the conflict and to engage with international entities in this context.

Amani's remarks were made during an interview with Al-Jadeed TV, where he addressed the devastating pager explosions carried out by Israel across Lebanon in September last year. These attacks resulted in numerous casualties, including Amani himself, who sustained an eye injury. The ambassador was one of 96 individuals transferred to Tehran for medical treatment. He mentioned that the device causing his injury was in place to alert him to potential attacks.

In response to reports of his summoning by the Lebanese Foreign Ministry, Amani clarified that the summons was related to a recent social media post. He noted that he was unable to attend and that no alternative date had been arranged. In a post on X, Amani cautioned against alleged Israeli and U.S. conspiracies, specifically regarding the calls for the disarmament of Hezbollah. He criticized the United States for supplying advanced weaponry to Israel while restricting other countries from strengthening their military capabilities.
