Iran Optimistic About Removal from FATF Blacklist, Says Vice President

Tehran: Vice President for Executive Affairs Mohammad Mohammad Jafar Ghaempanah has expressed hope that the United States would ‘not act maliciously’ and that Iran’s removal from the Financial Action Task Force (FATF) blacklist would occur soon. Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of a cabinet meeting in Tehran, Ghaempanah emphasized that joining the FATF had been a longstanding priority for the country.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Ghaempanah described the ratification of a bill on Iran’s accession to the Palermo and CFT conventions as a significant achievement, despite delays. He also praised President Masoud Pezeshkian’s policy of national consensus, noting that it contributed to achieving unity and facilitated the approval of Iran’s membership in the two international conventions.
