Iran, Pakistan Foreign Ministers Discuss Bilateral and Regional Issues on SCO Sidelines

Tehran: Iran's Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi met with his Pakistani counterpart, Mohammad Ishaq Dar, on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Council of Foreign Ministers meeting. The meeting, which took place in Kyrgyzstan, focused on discussing bilateral relations between the neighboring countries, as well as addressing regional issues of mutual concern.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the discussions were held in a constructive atmosphere, with both sides expressing a willingness to enhance cooperation in various fields. Earlier, during his address at the SCO ministerial meeting, Araghchi emphasized the importance of evolving the organization's focus from primarily political and security cooperation to a more comprehensive partnership that includes economic, technological, and development areas. He also pointed out that silence and ambiguous positions regarding aggressive acts against Iran could embolden aggressors to continue their actions.
