Iran President Highlights Challenges in Communicating with Supreme Leader

Tehran: Irans President Masoud Pezeshkian stated on Wednesday that establishing contact with the country's supreme leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, is "difficult at the moment".

According to France24.com, Khamenei has not made any public appearances since he was injured in a US-Israeli strike that initiated the ongoing Middle East conflict. This attack also claimed the life of his father, whom he succeeded. Despite the challenges in communication, Pezeshkian emphasized the importance of Khamenei's presence, describing it as a significant source of strength for Iran.

Khamenei has opted to issue written statements, maintaining a low profile during a critical period of conflict with the United States. This has sparked discussions concerning his interactions with other top officials in Iran. Notably, Khamenei was absent from his father's funeral ceremonies last month, further fueling speculation.

President Pezeshkian defended the supreme leader, asserting that he has had productive meetings with Khamenei, characterized by "kindness and very sound logic". He criticized those attempting to misrepresent Khamenei, attributing the spread of different images of the leader to the current challenging situation.
