Iran Ready to Facilitate Signing of Armenia-Azerbaijan Peace Treaty: Takht-e-Ravanchi

Tehran: Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Majid Takht-e-Ravanchi has announced that Iran is prepared to facilitate the signing of a bilateral peace treaty between Armenia and Azerbaijan. As a nation maintaining friendly relations with both countries, Iran is committed to assisting in finalizing the agreement that has been collaboratively developed by the two neighbors.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Takht-e-Ravanchi emphasized Iran's commitment to the principle of good neighborliness and its readiness to support Yerevan and Baku in reaching a peace deal. He noted that the signing of this agreement would not only contribute to the stability of Armenia and Azerbaijan but also benefit the wider region.

In his statements, the Iranian deputy foreign minister expressed hope for a permanent cessation of military conflicts between the two South Caucasus countries, urging them to focus on future developments. He remarked, "The past is the past. We should focus on the future. The document is ready, and the sooner it is signed, the better."

Takht-e-Ravanchi also addressed potential military scenarios, strongly opposing any violations of territorial integrity. He asserted that military force should not be used to invade and occupy another nation's territory.

He concluded by highlighting the importance of regional cooperation grounded in mutual respect and adherence to international law, aiming to build a peaceful future for the next generation.

In late March, the Armenian Foreign Ministry announced that it had finalized a draft peace agreement with Azerbaijan and was prepared to negotiate the timing and location for signing the deal, seeking to resolve decades of conflict between the two countries.
