Iran Reaffirms Support for Palestinian Cause Amid Hamas’ Call for Immediate Islamic Action

Tehran: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has reiterated Iran's steadfast support for the Palestinian cause and the creation of an independent Palestinian state. This declaration comes as Hamas urges Islamic nations to take immediate and serious action against Israeli actions affecting Palestinians.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Bassem Naim, a high-ranking member of Hamas, emphasized the urgency of the situation during a meeting with Araghchi in Tehran. Naim briefed the Iranian Foreign Minister on the ongoing issues in Palestine, highlighting the severe actions taken by the Israeli regime in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. He detailed the Judaization of occupied al-Quds and the mistreatment of Palestinians in Israeli prisons.

Naim criticized the Israeli regime's leadership for continuing policies that he claims lead to war and genocide against Palestinians. He condemned the ongoing blockade of the Gaza Strip and the obstruction of humanitarian aid. Naim called on the international community, particularly Islamic countries, to take decisive action against these Israeli measures and to support the Palestinian quest for self-determination.

During the meeting, Naim conveyed greetings from Khalil al-Hayya, the newly appointed head of Hamas' Political Bureau, to Araghchi. He also extended condolences on behalf of Hamas and the Palestinian people to Iran for the loss of Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei and other Iranian leaders who supported the Palestinian cause.

Araghchi, in response, expressed gratitude for the condolences and reaffirmed Iran's unwavering support for Palestine. He emphasized Iran's commitment to defending against aggressors and supporting Palestine's liberation and establishment as an independent state. Araghchi assured that Iran would continue advocating for Palestinian rights in international forums, including the upcoming United Nations General Assembly and other international organizations.
