Yerevan: Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi announced that Armenia has provided detailed explanations and assurances concerning regional transit routes and security following a recent trilateral meeting involving Armenia, Azerbaijan, and the United States in Washington.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Araqchi revealed the outcomes shortly after a meeting between Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian and Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in Yerevan on Tuesday. The discussions were described as ‘serious’ and encompassed both economic and cultural cooperation between the two nations.

Araqchi emphasized that Armenia assured Iran it acknowledged Iran’s red lines and would prevent its territory from being used against the Islamic Republic. Furthermore, the foreign minister noted that both countries agreed to finalize a comprehensive long-term strategic partnership document.

In the course of their meeting, Prime Minister Pashinyan informed President Pezeshkian that a planned corridor linking Azerbaijan with its exclave will remain under Armenian control. This land corridor is part of an agreement signed earlier this month in Washington between Armenia and Azerbaijan.
