Iran Reiterates Opposition to Geopolitical Changes in Region

Tehran: Iran’s top security official, Ali Akbar Ahmadian, has reaffirmed the nation’s longstanding position against any geopolitical changes in the region, asserting that such a policy serves the interests of all regional actors.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Ahmadian, who serves as the secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council (S.N.S.C), engaged in a phone discussion with Armen Grigoryan, his Armenian counterpart, on Saturday. The conversation revolved around bilateral and regional issues, as detailed in a statement by the S.N.S.C.

During the call, Grigoryan updated Ahmadian on the progress of negotiations between Armenia and Azerbaijan, underscoring Yerevan’s consistent stance on regional transit routes. In response, Ahmadian expressed appreciation for Armenia’s condemnation of the previous month’s Israeli aggression against Iran.

Ahmadian reiterated Iran’s firm opposition to changes in the region’s geopolitical landscape, emphasizing the importance of maintaining stability within existing borders as beneficial for all regional parties. The discussion also touched upon the need to enhance bilateral relations, with a particular focus on strengthening economic ties.
