Tehran: Iran's Agriculture Minister Gholamreza Nouri Ghezeljeh has announced that 1,925 agricultural projects will be inaugurated across the nation during this year's Government Week, commencing on August 24. Hormozgan Province will lead with the largest share, initiating 32 projects.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the minister shared this information during a meeting of Hormozgan's Planning Council. The projects include infrastructure and production initiatives aimed at bolstering the agricultural sector and fostering a marine-based economy. The administration is focusing on the development of coastal areas and islands, with detailed plans to optimize the country's maritime resources.

The minister emphasized the importance of strengthening rural markets, supporting agricultural exports, and minimizing the role of unnecessary intermediaries in the supply chain. He outlined that priorities for the ministry include agricultural insurance, price reforms, and quick responses to market challenges.

Nouri Ghezeljeh further acknowledged the significant contribution of farmers, fishermen, and other producers in sustaining Iran's food security. This is despite challenges such as economic pressures, energy and water imbalances, drought, and limitations on maritime trade.
