Iran Urges Muslim World’s Unity After Israeli Strike on Qatar

Cairo: Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi, in a message, has urged the Islamic world to be united against the recklessness of the Israeli regime. “The only way to decisively address the recklessness of the Israeli regime is for the Muslim world to act in unison,” Araghchi wrote on his X account. “Israel has heinously done what Iran would never contemplate: attacking the dear people and government of Qatar,” he added.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Araghchi emphasized Iran’s solidarity with its Qatari and Palestinian brothers following the attack. He condemned the assault on urban residences used by civilian guests of the State of Qatar, noting that these individuals posed no threat. Araghchi also expressed condolences for the loss of life, including the death of an innocent Qatari citizen and Palestinians, and highlighted the injuries sustained by civilians.

Araghchi underlined Iran’s readiness to cooperate further in confronting threats to international peace and security. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in a statement, reiterated support for Qatar against what it described as the savage aggression of the Israeli regime. It called for urgent action from the United Nations Security Council, the Organization of Islamic Cooperation, and other international bodies to address this act of aggression.

The statement also urged the international community and regional countries to take concrete steps to curb the warmongering of the Israeli regime and halt the ongoing violence in occupied Palestine.
