Tehran: Iran's Foreign Ministry Spokesman, Esmail Baghaei, emphasized that Iran will employ all available resources in response to actions by Israel, asserting the defense of the nation's sovereignty and territorial integrity as a fundamental principle. Baghaei made these remarks during his weekly press briefing in Tehran, highlighting Iran's commitment to safeguarding its dignity and sovereignty against external threats. According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Baghaei touched upon various issues, including the unjustifiable closure of Iranian consulates by Germany, which he criticized in light of Berlin's reaction to the execution of an Iranian national convicted of terrorism. He noted that diplomatic contacts between Tehran and Berlin are ongoing to address consular services for Iranians in Germany. Baghaei also announced Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi's upcoming visit to Pakistan to discuss regional developments and bilateral relations. He further clarified Iran's stance on the nuclear agreem ent, stating there is no justification for activating the snapback mechanism under Resolution 2231, as Iran continues to uphold its commitments amidst changes in the nuclear landscape following the US withdrawal from the JCPOA. On regional security, Baghaei reiterated Iran's view that the presence of external forces, particularly from the US, destabilizes the region. He affirmed Iran's resolve to defend its sovereignty and called for regional cooperation to ensure security. Addressing legal actions against Israeli leaders, Baghaei expressed Iran's support for initiatives aimed at holding Israeli officials accountable for crimes in Gaza and Lebanon. He also mentioned Iraq's protest to the UN Security Council concerning the misuse of its airspace against Iran and dismissed allegations of Iran dispatching weapons to Russia as baseless. The spokesman denied reports of an impending visit by the Omani foreign minister and highlighted Germany's role as a significant arms supplier to Israel, which he linked to reg ional crimes. Furthermore, he confirmed Iran's awareness of Israel's abduction of a UNIFIL member, consistent with its history of such actions. Baghaei expressed hope that the upcoming Riyadh meeting of Islamic countries' leaders will address regional issues and condemn Israeli actions. He also emphasized Iran's sacrifices in combating narcotics and underlined the importance of international cooperation, including with Turkey. On the Iran-Iraq security pact, Baghaei commended Iraq's commitment to border security and ongoing dialogues to address any implementation issues.
