Iran Warns U.S. and Israel of Swift Response to Any Aggression

Tehran: Iran has filed an official protest at the United Nations Security Council against U.S. President Donald Trump's threat to conduct military strikes against the country, warning Washington and Tel Aviv of a swift and decisive response in case of any act of aggression. Permanent Representative and Ambassador to the United Nations Sa'eed Iravani wrote in a letter to President of the Security Council Christina Markus Lassen and U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres that the United States will be fully responsible for the grave consequences of any hostile action against the Islamic Republic.According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the letter emphasized Iran's commitment to regional peace, stability, and security while firmly warning against any military adventurism. The letter stated that Iran would respond swiftly and decisively to any act of aggression or attack by the United States or its proxy, the Israeli regime, against its sovereignty, territorial integrity, or national interests. It underscore d that the United States would bear full responsibility for the consequences of any hostile action.The letter detailed a recent interview on 30 March 2025 with NBC News, where the U.S. President threatened military action against Iran. This threat was described as a violation of international law and the United Nations Charter, specifically Article 2(4), which prohibits the threat or use of force against any state's territorial integrity or political independence. The letter criticized the U.S. President's pattern of threatening independent nations with the use of force, which it deemed a dangerous precedent in international relations.The Iranian representative urged the U.N. Security Council to condemn the U.S. President's threats and demand that the United States uphold its legal obligations under international law and the U.N. Charter. The letter warned that failure to address these provocations could have catastrophic consequences for both regional and international peace and security.
