Iran Warns US Against ‘New Foolishness’ After Trump’s Renewed Threats

Tehran: A senior Iranian military spokesman has warned the United States that any renewed 'foolishness' against the Islamic Republic would trigger a harsher response than those delivered during the 40-day war. Brigadier General Abolfazl Shekarchi, senior spokesman for Iran's Armed Forces, said on Sunday that repeated threats by 'delusional' US President Donald Trump against Iran would only deepen Washington's troubles.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Shekarchi warned that any attempt by the US to compensate for what he described as America's disgrace in the third imposed war against Iran would lead to severe consequences. He stated that any renewed aggression would result in 'more crushing and severe blows' for the US, emphasizing that the 'decayed army' of the US would face 'new, offensive, surprising and stormy scenarios' if it continues its aggressive stance.

Shekarchi criticized President Trump, describing him as 'desperate', and asserted that if the threats or renewed aggression against Iran materialize, it would lead to a 'self-created quagmire' for Washington. This warning comes as Trump has recently intensified his rhetoric against Iran, threatening renewed strikes if diplomatic discussions fail to produce an agreement.

The conflict between the US and Iran escalated on February 28, when an unprovoked US-Israeli war on Iran began with air raids that targeted senior Iranian officials and commanders, as well as civilian infrastructure, residential areas, educational institutes, and historical and cultural sites. In retaliation, the Iranian Armed Forces successfully conducted 100 waves of strikes against key American and Israeli targets throughout the region.
