Iranian Ambassador Criticizes Netanyahu Over Hezbollah Conflict.

Madrid: Amid heightened discussions surrounding a potential ceasefire between Lebanon and Israel, the Iranian ambassador to Spain has criticized Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, asserting that he cannot claim victory over the Hezbollah resistance movement in their conflict with Lebanon.According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Reza Zabib, the Iranian ambassador, expressed his views on his X social media platform on Tuesday night, referencing a ceasefire in Lebanon. He cited a famous quote by Henry Kissinger, a former American diplomat, emphasizing, "The conventional army loses if it does not win. The guerrilla wins if he does not lose," drawing a parallel to America's defeat in the Vietnam War.Zabib noted that while Hezbollah suffered significant losses and Lebanon experienced considerable damage, Netanyahu could not declare Hezbollah defeated. In line with Kissinger's words, the ambassador argued that the resistance remains victorious despite the circumstances.This commentary arises followin g reports from Zionist media indicating that Israel's cabinet had consented to a ceasefire in Lebanon. Additionally, U.S. President Joe Biden, in his final days at the White House, confirmed the agreement to cease hostilities between Israel and Hezbollah."I have good news from the Middle East," Biden announced to reporters on Tuesday afternoon, stating that he had communicated with the prime ministers of Lebanon and Israel and was pleased to reveal that they had accepted the United States' proposal to terminate the destructive conflict.Biden further detailed that the agreement aims to halt the fighting permanently and is set to be implemented starting Wednesday morning local time.
