Baghdad: Iran's ambassador to Iraq, Mohammad Kazem Al-Sadeq, has met and held talks with Sheikh Qais al-Khazali, secretary general of Iraq's Asa'ib Ahl al-Haq movement.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the meeting reviewed bilateral Iran-Iraq relations as well as regional and international developments.

Al-Khazali stressed Iraq's support for the Islamic Republic of Iran in the face of threats confronting it. He also called for respect for the sovereignty of countries, expressing opposition to any aggression that threatens the security and stability of other states.

Expanding bilateral ties in line with the interests of both nations was also discussed.
