Iranian and Saudi Foreign Ministers Address Rising Regional Tensions

Tehran: Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi engaged in a telephone conversation with his Saudi counterpart, Faisal bin Farhan, where they discussed bilateral ties and the latest regional developments.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, both sides emphasized the escalation of tensions and the rise in insecurity across the region. They agreed on the necessity of maintaining cooperation and diplomatic efforts to prevent the spread of the crisis and to restore stability and security in the neighborhood.

Araghchi and Faisal's discussion, which took place as recently as Saturday, covered bilateral issues, regional developments, and diplomatic efforts to restore stability. This includes addressing the insecurity affecting the Strait of Hormuz, attributed to Washington's actions.

Iranian officials have consistently maintained that durable security in West Asia cannot be imposed externally. Instead, they insist that regional countries must take responsibility for preventing the expansion of tensions.
