Iranian and Singaporean Foreign Ministers Discuss Bilateral Cooperation and Humanitarian Concerns.

Tehran: Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and his Singaporean counterpart Vivian Balakrishnan engaged in a significant telephone conversation on Thursday, centered on mutual interests and expanding bilateral cooperation. The discussion highlighted both countries’ commitment to strengthening ties and addressing pressing issues that concern both nations.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, a focal point of their conversation was the case of Masoud Rahimi, an Iranian citizen currently facing a death sentence in Singapore. Araghchi expressed hope that Singapore would consider humanitarian aspects while respecting its legal framework, potentially revisiting the decision regarding Rahimi’s execution. Both ministers acknowledged the constructive relationship between Iran and Singapore and recognized the efforts of Iran’s late Foreign Minister Hossein Amirabdollahian in advocating for Rahimi’s case.

The dialogue between Araghchi and Balakrishnan reflects not only the ongoing robust relationship between
Iran and Singapore but also underscores the importance of diplomatic discussions in addressing complex international legal and humanitarian issues.
