Ankara: The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Turkey has formally dismissed the allegations made during the NATO summit in Ankara regarding Iran's nuclear program and the freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz. The embassy's statement described these claims as unfounded and driven by political motives.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Iran reiterated that its nuclear program is solely for peaceful purposes. As a signatory to the Treaty on the Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT), Iran has consistently asserted that nuclear weapons are not part of its defense strategy.

The Iranian Embassy highlighted Iran's commitment to maritime security, stating that the country plays a responsible role in ensuring the freedom of navigation in the Persian Gulf and the Strait of Hormuz. It accused extra-regional actors of being the real source of insecurity in the region due to their illegal military interventions and destabilizing actions.

The statement also criticized the United States and Israel, accusing them of prioritizing aggression over diplomacy and undermining negotiation efforts. It stated that NATO, by supporting acts of aggression against Iran, lacks the authority to dictate solutions for regional peace and security.
