Tehran: The spokesman of Iran’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs has emphasized that the US presidential election is a domestic matter for Americans, highlighting that the key concern for Iranians is Washington’s actions. Esmail Baghaei, speaking on Thursday in response to a question from IRNA regarding Iran’s stance on the US presidential election, stated, “It is for the American people to elect their president and they have now made their choice.”
According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Baghaei expressed that Iranians have had “very bitter experiences from past consecutive American administrations.” He further articulated that each new election cycle offers a chance to review and potentially alter previously unjust or unsuitable policies. Baghaei concluded by reiterating, “What matters for us is the US’s deeds.”
In the context of the recent election, Donald Trump was elected as the US president on November 5. Trump previously served as president from 2017 to 2021.
