Iranian Leader’s Advisor Declares End of US Dominance

Tehran: Advisor to the Leader of the Islamic Revolution, Ali Akbar Velayati, has stated that the era of the United States’ dominance is over, marking a shift from a unipolar to a multipolar and equitable world order.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, Velayati, in an exclusive interview, traced the historical roots of US political and economic power back to the 15th century colonial ambitions of European nations. He argued that these ambitions laid the groundwork for the US’s later imperialistic policies.

Velayati highlighted that the United States was founded on principles of racial discrimination and colonialism, with its internal conflicts reflecting deeper economic and political divides. He analyzed 20th-century developments, noting that after World War II, the US attempted to establish itself as the sole global power, a notion that was soon challenged by emerging nations rejecting unilateral dominance.

He pointed to Russia’s resurgence under President Vladimir Putin and China’s rise as major factors reshaping global dynamics, particularly through strategic alliances like BRICS. Velayati observed that the US is now facing legitimacy crises not only in the West Asia region but also in Latin America and East Asia as it seeks to expand its influence.

Criticizing the Trump administration’s approach to international relations, Velayati asserted that the rights of the Palestinian people are non-negotiable. He claimed that the US aims to control regional energy and trade routes, increasing pressure on Pakistan and India, while seeking new bases near Gwadar and Chabahar ports to counter China.

Velayati concluded by emphasizing that Iran, as an independent and influential nation, plays a crucial role in the new global order based on justice and cooperation, standing against imperialism and supporting resistance movements.
