Iranian Parliament Demands End to Gaza Siege

Tehran: Members of the Iranian Parliament have issued a statement calling for the lifting of the food siege in Gaza and the prevention of a major humanitarian catastrophe in the region.

According to Islamic Republic News Agency, the Zionist regime, with the full support and backing of the U.S. and Europe, and in the shadow of the silence of most Arab rulers, has resorted to the weapon of starvation after nearly two years of relentless killing of Palestinians in Gaza. The statement expressed concerns that a great human tragedy could occur in the region and urged freedom-loving people worldwide to advocate for the liberation of the oppressed Palestinians.

The statement further warned that the criminal regime’s aggression would not be limited to Gaza and Damascus, predicting that complicity with criminals would eventually lead to betrayal and aggression against other Arab and Islamic lands.

Iranian Parliament members also called on the administration of the Islamic Republic of Iran to engage with the original Palestinian population, including both residents and those displaced from the occupied territories, in international forums. They emphasized the importance of disappointing the Israeli and American entities from undermining the aspiration of liberating Holy Quds.

Additionally, the statement urged the Egyptian government to open the Rafah crossing to facilitate the delivery of food supplies to the people of Gaza. The ongoing conflict has resulted in the deaths of over 59,730 Palestinians and injuries to more than 144,470, highlighting the severe humanitarian crisis in the region.
